Monte Croce, or "alle Croci," is a panoramic hill behind Comnago and Calogna. At the summit is a small church dedicated to Mary Help of Christians, built in 1890, and a picnic area. Both Monte Croce and Motta Rossa offer sweeping views of Monte Rosa and the Alps. The hillsides are lined with ancient terraces, once cultivated and now overgrown with birch groves and invasive vegetation.
