From the lake, a walk through the woods leads to the Vergante plateau, a kingdom of flowers where greenhouses and nurseries have gradually occupied the agricultural land, replacing fruit growing and traditional crops.
Along the way, on the outskirts of Villa Lesa, you'll come across the ancient Romanesque church of San Sebastiano, with its gabled façade and elegant bell tower with three tiers of windows. In Massino Visconti, the church of San Michele houses splendid 15th-century frescoes and a leaning Romanesque bell tower.
